Introduction to website navigation

Website navigation is the key to getting people to find and see the information on your website. If your navigation is not organised or difficult to use your visitors will get the impression that you or your company are not organised and are difficult to use. You can add any of the additional navigation options to your web design / website project. If you have a existing website you will need permission from the original web designer of the website for me to edit your web pages.

Text website navigation - standard links

Every web design project website will include 2 sets of text links as standard at the top, left side or right side. Please see the text navigation standard links example below:

Text website navigation - sub section links

You can also have additional sets of links (called sub section links) where, for example, you might need your users to navigate through a set of pages different details about a product.

Text website navigation - menu links

Text links can be coded so that when you place your mouse over them another menu of links pop out or expand to show a sub section of links.

Graphic Navigation

Get your navigation noticed with graphical images. Graphic navigation is created to work with your web design but also to make the navigation more noticeable and pleasing to the eye. Navigation graphics can also indicate the page the user is currently viewing.

Rollovers are created to produce a reaction when the user moves their mouse over the link / button.

Interactive website navigation - Animated navigation

Animated website navigation links move and can provide a incredible range of visual and audio effects. The main cost involved is the fee for using the audio file plus the type and length of the audio file. To add the same sound click to one graphic link will cost a great deal less than adding a narration and music to animated links.
